And even better… you can now generate your custom API key quickly and easily within your SnapEngage Admin Dashboard. (NOTE: The API Key Generator tool currently only allows access to the Visitor Chat API with more API functionality coming soon.)
When Do You Need an API Key?
You will need an API key if you plan to create more advanced custom builds using the Visitor Chat API, and you can generate your own key for this within the My Account section of your Admin Dashboard. Check out our step-by-step guide for managing your Visitor Chat API key.

Embed live chat in your mobile application
Some SnapEngage clients have used our advanced APIs to build a customized live chat interface within their native and mobile applications. The flexible API allows you to call chat functions within your existing framework for a seamless visitor chat experience.
Customize your live chat reports – coming soon
You will soon be able to use your API key to pull raw analytics data from your SnapEngage account. This will allow you to customize your reporting displays and dashboards and analyze your live chat data alongside other analytics data sources.
