December 19th 2013 Release Notes: Updates for UserVoice and Mobile chat

Hello everyone! Today we have a few things to mention:

* Improved UserVoice integration, splits long transcripts in multiple messages so that no information is lost.
* Mobile enhanced chat is no longer considered “Beta”.
* Mobile enabled chat box is now on by default for new Widgets.
* Mobile chat button now uses the same position settings as desktop version.

SnapEngage Live Chat & Desk.com Integration gets an update

Desk.com recently notified us that they were releasing a new API that had more capabilities than you could shake a stick at (although one should never shake a stick, especially if there is a nest of angry wasps attached to it). The great news is that we have completed the update to our integration thanks to the new API from Desk, the not so great news is that the old version of the API will no longer function in the coming months so you will want to make sure you complete the migration soon. Why SnapEngage’s Proactive Chat is Superior to Site Monitoring

We occasionally hear requests for this feature, “Site Monitoring,” which allows you to view all of your website visitors in real time for the purpose of manually extending chat invitations one by one.

We decided that the time had come to document our official stance on the matter.

It is not surprising that Site Monitoring seems attractive at first glance, but if you give us a moment of your time, we think you’ll see how and why SnapEngage’s “Proactive Chat” feature trumps the supposed advantages of Site Monitoring by a wide margin.

December 6th, 2013 – Release Notes: Winter theme chat form and small updates

Happy Friday everybody! Here are some of the changes that went live today:

  • The Winter theme chat box has been made available in the Settings > Style tab of every customers.

  • Minor bug fixes in our Jira integration: Correct formatting and treatment of “labels” (tagging) field. Fixed the authentication save operation not being consistent.
  • Some general adjustments as well in the new Desk.com v2 API migration released yesterday — some case creations have been delayed in the past day, but now everything should be flowing as expected
